The Gaze Between

The project visualises both the feeling of being gazed at and the moment of gazing back. It explores the tension between being seen and seeing back, transforming looking into an act of reflection. Informed by research on the male gaze in street photography, I use a 3D printing pen to craft a wearable garment that exposes the unease and allure of visibility. The body enacts an oppositional gaze, returning the viewer’s eyes upon themselves. Through this exchange, the gaze becomes both encounter and resistance, revealing how empowerment arises when one moves from passive exposure to active self-definition within the act of being seen.
