SHE begins with the memory of my aunt’s passing and explores how the body, loss, and memory intertwine. Through material experimentation, video documentation, writing, and participatory interaction, I created a “surrogate body” onto which viewers can project their own memories. Using wool, tactile processes, and ritual-like actions, the work constructs an intimate space where emotions are carried through materials rather than spoken. Visitors spend a quiet moment with the life-size figure and write a farewell letter to someone they have lost. These letters are transferred onto fabric envelopes, forming an archive of shared collective memory. The project moves from personal grief to a ritual installation that invites viewers to participate, imagine, remember, and say goodbye in their own way.
