Armor of self protection

When people go through burnout, what helps them recover isn’t always outside support — it’s whether they can accept themselves. Burnout often comes not just from having too much to do, but from constantly judging ourselves and trying to be perfect. Self-acceptance means being a little kinder to yourself and allowing room for mistakes and limits. Once you stop fighting yourself and start understanding who you are, your “psychological armor” begins to work. It doesn’t just protect you from stress — it helps you heal and regain energy. Accepting yourself doesn’t make you weak; it actually makes you stronger. It helps you stop fearing vulnerability and see it as a part of being human. In that way, burnout can become not just exhaustion, but a chance to rediscover yourself.
