This project takes the beard as its starting point, exploring how the body becomes a vessel for power, prejudice and control. Throughout history, the beard has been given meanings of identity, order and discipline—it can be a symbol of authority and obedience, or a mark of rebellion. The project seeks to question: who decides what is decent appearance? How does society shape individuals and groups through the body?
