EXPANDED PRACTICE

Inner Room

The womb is both a biological site and a moral domain—an interior space long named, measured, and interpreted by others. In “ Inner Room ,” the womb becomes a spatial metaphor through which three environments—an operating theatre, a nursery, and a kitchen—trace how women are seen, disciplined, and expected at different stages of life. Drawing on feminist geography and theories of motherhood, the project uses the fluid relationship between film, scale models, and performance to explore how female visibility is constructed, coded, and demanded. Across virtual and physical space, it asks how women might redefine their own appearance through subtle, persistent, and soft forms of resistance. The womb here becomes not a fixed organ but a contested social space—continually constructed, occupied, and reclaimed.
