Beneath the Skin explores how the body becomes a site of negotiation between personal will and social discipline.

Focusing on imagined tattoos that cannot be realized due to social constraints, the project examines the fragility of memory, the politics of visibility, and the social structures that shape aesthetic choices.

Through the act of “tattooing without pain,” it questions how desire and control intersect on the body’s surface, transforming skin from a biological boundary into a cultural vessel where identity is continually rewritten.
