This project is an experimental workshop kit that explores how a 3D-printing device, when quietly embedded into a in an elderly community, can open new forms of participation for older adults. By bridging familiar hand-drawing and collage practices with the gradual introduction of mechanical control, the workshop encourages participants to transform the precision of industrial fabrication into a soft, everyday mode of making, thereby reducing the distance between intimidating digital tools and the elderly.
The workshop kit serves as a playful structure that holds sketches, material tests, collaboratively designed biscuit shapes, and simple mechanical instructions. By using familiar motifs, soft textures, and low-pressure collaborative tasks, the system assists participants in approaching complex tools gently, reshaping their relationship with screen-based interfaces and fostering a renewed sense of agency—one collaborative biscuit at a time.
