Octopus and Female Ghost

My work aims to reveal the continued deprivation of reproductive rights faced by women today. I researched the unfair treatment contemporary women suffer regarding childbirth. I used octopuses and some East Asian ghost stories to construct a new folktale. The protagonist suffers unfair treatment; she cannot decide her own marriage or whether she will have children. However, she has the opportunity to use supernatural forces to help other women resist patriarchal control. This content serves as a new narrative to help women reflect on what rights they are being deprived of.
