Electric light, a milestone of human progress, has shaped both social rhythms and private experience. Brightness supports productivity and public life, while dimness relates to emotion, rest, and bodily comfort. For people like me, sensitive to light during cervical pain, dimness becomes a form of relief. Inspired by this, I designed a lamp that gently darkens when lifted with both hands, encouraging a slower pace and inviting people to rediscover a personal rhythm—one shaped not by social pressure, but by the body’s own needs.
