Loose Threads, Unstitched Selves is a practice-based research project exploring how silence is structurally produced and embodied within East Asian cultural and familial contexts. Beginning from personal archives of suppressed memories, the project develops into a collective archive through participatory workshops. Using thread, fabric, handwriting, photography, and voice, the work treats archiving not as preservation, but as a critical method for exposing what is erased, disciplined, or left unsaid. Rather than offering healing, the project insists on visibility, asking how softness, fragmentation, and incomplete speech can operate as quiet forms of resistance.
