Chunshan’s research focuses on the shifting landscapes of underground club culture in contemporary China. As long-standing venues close and nightlife disperses into temporary, mobile, and hybrid spaces, the club begins to transform from a fixed architectural site into a multisensory apparatus of sound, movement, and shared presence. This project traces how collective rhythm forms, dissolves, and reappears across different urban contexts—asking what is lost when clubs disappear, what persists in memory and the body, and how new night-time spaces might be imagined.
