Zhao Xia Shu (Writings from the Hearth)
Binxin Chen
Zhao Xia Shu(Writings from the Hearth) dismantles the myth of romance through a feminist rewriting of the Cowherd and Weaver Girl tale. By embedding textual fragments onto kitchen objects, the work uses domestic aesthetics to critique gendered labor. It gives form to silenced emotions, creating an intergenerational dialogue within the intimate space of home.
